Some love stories feel effortless from the start…and that’s exactly how we would describe our journey with Brittney and Josiah. We first met this sweet couple at a Hill Country Bliss open house event, and from the very first conversation, we instantly clicked. It felt less like meeting new clients and more like reconnecting with old friends.

Shortly after, we were thrilled to find out they were interested in having UnityREEL capture their wedding day. After a heartfelt consultation call, it was official—we were booked as their wedding photographers! Naturally, it made perfect sense to plan their engagement session at the place where our paths first crossed: the beautiful Hill Country Bliss Wedding & Event Venue in Bertram, Texas.

The Perfect Setting

Hill Country Bliss lives up to its name in every way. Surrounded by rolling greenery and wide-open skies, it’s a hidden gem tucked away in the Hill Country. From its expansive views to its peaceful atmosphere, every corner of this venue offered a stunning backdrop for Brittney and Josiah’s session.

The session began indoors by the fireplace, with Brittney and Josiah dressed in their formal outfits. We recommend couples start their session in their dressier look while everything is still fresh. Later, they can change into a more relaxed and casual outfit for a playful close to the shoot. These early moments allowed Misty to capture some truly elegant and intimate portraits that reflected Brittney and Josiah’s sweet connection.

As the session moved outdoors, the Texas Hill Country provided a dramatic and beautiful backdrop. Though there was a chance of rain in the forecast, the skies delivered something special instead. A mix of soft sunlight and rolling clouds created a cinematic atmosphere, with golden light peeking through at just the right moments.

While Misty focused on capturing the beauty through her lens, Jay worked alongside her as her lighting assistant. He helped stage each scene, adjusted lighting, and ensured every detail came together to highlight the couple’s chemistry against the natural and architectural beauty around them. Together, Misty and Jay were able to bring out the richness of the setting and the joy of the couple in a gallery that feels romantic, vibrant, and completely one of a kind.

A Natural Connection

Brittney and Josiah made it incredibly easy for Misty and Jay to work with them. Their energy was light, joyful, and completely genuine from the very start. The moment they looked at each other, it was clear how natural their connection is. Whether they were dressed in their formal attire or had changed into their more casual outfits later in the session, they moved through every pose with ease, bringing a sense of comfort and playfulness that translated beautifully into every image.

There is something truly special about couples who fully trust the process and allow themselves to be present in the moment. Brittney and Josiah embraced it all, and that trust and connection shines in every photo captured.
