Wedding at Texas Old Town: Kari + Jonathan

We met Kari and Jonathan through one of the pastors at the church we both attend in Lago Vista! Jonathan is one of Jerry’s (our pastor) sons and as soon as we met him and Kari in person we knew that God had his hand on their relationship. These two are the epitome of what love looks like. They are selfless and caring and both are incredibly talented when it come to the musical arts!

Kari is like the fairytale princess who has long awaited her perfect prince and now that she has him she is the most radiant bride we have had the pleasure and joy of capturing. Jonathan is the perfect prince charming, he is sweet and genuinely loves Kari with all of his heart. Many people take it upon themselves to find the person they believe they are meant to spend their life with but these two waited for God to bring them together and the result is nothing short of miraculous. There is not a soul who was in attendance who wouldn’t tell you that these two were made for one another.

Kari’s makeup and hair were expertly styled to finish off her perfect princess look by Sharon Marie Makeup. As a matter of fact, Sharon did all of the bridesmaids and Kari’s mother hair and makeup as well. All of these ladies looked absolutely stunning from head to toe.

Kari and Jonathan decided to do a first touch so that they could share an intimate prayer together without him seeing her before they said “I do”. This was a simple yet sweet gesture that Jonathan honored per the request of his soon to be wife so they could have that magic moment when she walked down the aisle to marry her prince charming.

When they saw each other for the first time the excitement was palpable amidst the guests. Despite the 40 degree temperaturs outside everyone was overflowing with excitement for these two. We had all been watching the weather closely because the original forecast called for warmer temperatures and lots of rain. This was potentially problematic since their ceremony was to be held outside. The night before the big day the forecast called for nearly 50% chance of rain. Kari remained cool as a cucumber and stated simply “it doesn’t matter because I’m getting married tomorrow” with genuine and unwavering excitement.

Everyone was praying for the rain to hold off and God answered our prayers! Not only did it not rain AT ALL the whole day but at 11pm on the dot (when vendors were out of the venue) the rain began to pour. Yesterday was truly such a blessed day and we gladly welcomed the cooler temperatures with dryer than expected weather!

The rest of the night went off without a single problem and there was an emanating joy from every person in attendance. A few of our favorite highlights were when Jonathan surprised Kari with a performance from his old band with the guys and even more so when they called her on stage to sing the second song! If you knew these two then you would understand what a special surprise this was to her!.

The surprises were not complete until her sister presented a very beautiful song she actually wrote FOR these two! There was not a dry eye in the house and we honestly must say this was the most special and beautiful wedding we have ever done photo and video for.

Kari and Jonathan we absolutely love you guys and we are so incredibly honored to have been chosen to capture this very special day! May God continue to bless your union as long as you both shall live. We hope you enjoy this sneak peek into your first day of the rest of your lives together.

Love,

Misty + Jay
